With over 35 years of experience as a business owner and Private Wealth Advisor, Scott Davis is the senior member of our team. Scott serves as a Corporate Client Group Director, specializing in corporate transactions, banking issues and executive financial services. His primary focus is on helping C-suite corporate executives manage the complex regulatory issues inherent in restricted and concentrated stock positions. Scott has extensive experience in dealing with Rule 144 issues associated with selling, hedging and implementing 10b5-1 plans; lending against restricted securities and other corporate services. He has also participated in over $500 million in corporate transactions by working with the firm’s investment bankers. Scott is also a designated International Client Advisor and works with offshore families and their businesses.
Over the course of his career, Scott has been able to build and maintain solid, long-term relationships with highly successful business people. This is a result of his ability to listen to, and comfortably interact with, ultra-affluent families. He works to understand each client’s unique needs and develops plans to successfully address those requirements. Alongside other members of The Davis/Yost team, Scott takes on the role of advocate for his clients. Instead of just taking the company line, he puts himself on the clients’ side of the table, helping them get the best value from the firm. This unwavering advocacy for clients is one of the most important tangible characteristics that sets the team apart.
Scott learned that it was “all about the client” as a teenager, working with his father in their oil service business. It was a lesson he has never forgotten. To build trusted and enduring client relationships, Scott understands that you have to be willing to set yourself apart from others.
Married for over 30 years with three grown children, Scott and his wife live in Dallas. When not working with clients, he feels it is important to give back to the community financially and with his time. He serves as a Board member of the Retina Foundation of the Southwest and an advisory board member and past president of Family Compass. He also loves spending time with his family and small circle of friends. As a serious food enthusiast, he especially enjoys cooking.
