Philosophy

Investments must be made with an eye towards the macroeconomic changes taking place on a domestic and global scale. The seeds for positive returns are planted during times of higher volatility, and the potential for outsized losses are set in motion during periods of complacency. The goal is to limit the volatility during downturns and position to take advantage of the opportunities. In short, Recession = Opportunity. 

Although every recession has its own unique characteristics, all recessions have followed a certain rhythm and have a common pattern. Based on historical averages from 1945-2009, the recovery and overheating stages of the cycle last a combined total of 58 months, while the slowdown and contraction stages of the cycle last a combined total of 11 months.

Liz has specialized in providing personalized private banking services to high net worth families for over 10 years. Before joining Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management her career included time at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse. Liz graduated from DePaul University and resides in the south suburbs of Chicago with her husband, Paul, and two children.

Ryan Lemenager

Analyst, Private Wealth Management


Ryan has worked at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management since 2016. His time is focused on client services, investment analysis, and performance reporting. Ryan joins the team from Heartland Bank where he spent time as an investment consultant. Ryan is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he holds a degree in Agricultural Economics. He currently resides in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

Jeff Richert

Analyst, Private Wealth Management


Jeff has been with Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management since 2017. He recently joined Morgan Stanley PWM after working in asset management for AXA Equitable. His primary roles include trading, client service, & performance reporting. Jeff graduated with a degree in Finance from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business. He resides in the south suburbs of Chicago.
