Joseph M. McLister (Joey) is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Washington, DC and credentialed by the College of Financial Planning as a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM. With this focus on retirement planning, he is committed to providing clients with the advice, service, and extensive resources required to protect their lifestyle and achieve their long term goals. Working with Joey is a collaborative process, in which he works to understand the objectives, unique personal circumstances, family dynamics, and values of each client in order to construct a plan that is custom tailored to meet those needs.
After graduating from the University of Delaware in 2007 with a Finance degree, he moved to Florida and began to play on the PGA Tour. As a professional golfer, he competed against the most elite golfers in the world, persevering to earn his Web.com/PGA Tour Card in 2013. The lessons he learned as a professional athlete benefit his clients today: persistence, dedication to success, and a highly disciplined approach.
While rehabilitating a broken wrist, Joey was granted an internship with Morgan Stanley. He worked with Marvin McIntyre, Managing Director of the Capitol Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. The experience shifted his passion towards business, inspiring a deep desire to make an impact as a valued Financial Advisor within a first class organization.
Joey, his wife Leigh, and son Charlie live in Ashburn, VA. Joey is active with community affairs, including serving as a member of the Board of Directors at Loudoun Golf & Country Club.
